We spoke with the technical director of Jíbaro, Tres robots and Tadeo Jones

The BISITE Research Group at the University of Salamanca is organizing a Masterclass with José María Tejeda, technical director of Tadeo Jones and the Love, Death + Robots Vol. 3 episodes: Jibaro and Three Robots. The talk can be watched via streaming through our YouTube channel.

José María Tejada, better known as “Chispi”, in addition to being a professor on the Master's Degree in Digital Animation coordinated by the group, has worked as a technical director for studios such as Lightbox Animation Studios, PinkmanTV, and B-Water Studios. Throughout his career, he has participated in international productions such as Animal Crackers and the Tadeo Jones saga. We can currently find his name in the credits of two episodes of the acclaimed Netflix series, both of which showcase an outstanding technical and aesthetic achievement.

During the Masterclass, he will tell us about his work on these productions, as well as explain how the 3D animation industry currently operates in film post-production and the future challenges in this field.

We will learn firsthand about the process they followed in the animation of Jibaro and Three Robots, what it is like to work with major figures in the industry such as Oscar winner Alberto Mielgo, and the differences between working on a national film production such as Tadeo Jones and on a production designed for digital media and adapted to the Netflix model.

The masterclass will be open to all questions from the audience. So, you can already start preparing interesting questions for our guest.
